Especially for Masterly – the Dutch in Milano, Nicole Uniquole brought Wilfred into contact with H.R.H. Princess Margarita de Bourbon de Parme. Together they will present a cabinet inspired by the spice cabinets in the style of Rembrandt’s time. The first of a possible series of five cabinets has embraced the theme of pepper, the black gold of the Golden Age. Dutch traders did extremely lucrative business; without the trade in spices Rembrandt would not have had a patron. The cabinet is constructed from walnut from a local tree. The pattern is engraved in brass, with a technique also employed by Rembrandt.
