In the parkland between the town hall in Alphen aan de Rijn and a new block of apartments an oak tree has been transformed into a work of art. The object defies gravity, leans over and as such enters a dialogue with the design by the architect Erik van Egeraat and a huge sycamore that was spared by this project. The movement in the design symbolises the fall of the oak tree that had to go, and the transformation into an object with a use.
